Rabat new Bus Station

In line with the objectives of the integrated development program of the city of Rabat, called “Rabat City of Light, Moroccan Capital of Culture”, the project of the new Rabat bus station, the construction work of which has been launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI may God glorify him, on Friday October 27, 2017, illustrates the firm desire of the Sovereign to raise the city of Rabat to the rank of major world metropolises and to provide it with infrastructure worthy of its status and in line with the expectations of populations, residents and visitors.

The future Rabat bus station will be built on land located near the Moulay Abdallah sports complex in Rabat. It will be designed according to modern architecture, optimizing spaces for smooth passenger management, and will be equipped with equipment that complies with international requirements in terms of safety, security and quality of services.

Mobilizing a land base of more than 8 hectares, with a covered area of 21,617 m², this project, which will benefit from direct access from the Rabat-Casablanca highway, will include 46 coach platforms, a parking lot for short-term parking duration (24 spaces) and another for long-term parking (20 spaces), as well as catering and waiting areas.

With a budget of around 160 million dirhams (excluding exterior developments), the future station should contribute to the decongestion of traffic within the city, to the reduction of the pollution rate, in addition to optimization passenger transport, notably through the improvement of the services provided.

This project, whose delegated project management is ensured by the company “Rabat Région Aménagement”, will be carried out within 36 months as part of a partnership between the Ministry of Equipment, Transport and Logistics. and water and the Municipality of Rabat.
